Our History

The origins

Formento was born in 1959 thanks to Mr. Filippo’s and his wife Paola’s passion for the protection and the recovery of the artistic heritage. The company grows and develops through the collaboration with professor Nino Lamboglia, founder and director of the Istituto degli Studi Liguri. Formento enters the building world and develops a very keen interest in the issues of consolidation and conservation of historical buildings in Liguria.

The 60s and 70s

Formento begins working under the direction of Architectural Heritage and Landscape Authority of Liguria, cooperating in the restoration of many buildings of historical interest. During the same years the company begins a fruitful collaboration with Heritage and Landscape Authority of Liguria and takes part in many excavations campaigns in Liguria.

The 80s

In the view of 1992-Genoa Expo and Colombus’ dedicated events, Formento carries out the restoration of Porta Soprana, of Christopher Columbus House, of Chiostro di S. Andrea and of Mura del Barbarossa. It is an important occasion to confirm and strengthen Formento’s abilities in the field of the restoration of listed historical building in the art and archaeology world.

The 90s and 2000s

From the beginning of the 90s Mr. And Mrs. Formento are joined by their son Alberto, newly graduate in architecture. In the 2000s their daughter Elena, graduate in engineering also joins the team. They both bring a further fundamental added value to the family business.

The Company Today

It is also thanks to the innovative contribution of the new generation that Formento is now a solid and growing company with 21 internal employees who are accompanied by a network of professionals and highly qualified external partners.
